Our new modern/Mexican Casa Colmena is centrally located in La Ventana with beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez from your own balcony. You will get access to the entire upstairs with 2 bedrooms (sleeps up to 7 people/5 beds). Our large patio with plenty of lounge options, plus a grill and fire pit will give you plenty of comfort while staying in El Sargento.
Besides that, we have EXCELLENT INTERNET- ToroNet with Telmex Fiber-Optic back-up. This means you can work remotely with confidence and the Sea of Cortez as your background.
But waking up with the sunrise over the Sea of Cortez is the best part of staying in our casa. Get ready to do your favorite watersports – either kiteboarding in the winter, scuba diving/spearfishing in the summer, or mountain biking year-round!
The spaces in Casa Colmena
You will be staying in the entire upstairs unit accessible by a private staircase. The house has two air-conditioned bedrooms: one with queen size bed and the other with double bed + 3 bunk-style single beds. Therefore, Casa Colmena can sleep a total of 4 adults + three children/teenagers. There is a bathroom shared between the rooms with 2 sinks, a toilet and a hot shower. The room that sleeps 5 has a fridge as well.
We have a beautiful large balcony with dining table and multiple lounge options. Built-in fire-pit (Includes 1-small propane tank per stay), grill, outside kitchen with limited cooking facilities, and a coffee machine. We will provide hot plate and convection oven for long-term stays). Very good internet. Furthermore, you can use the additional (shared) outside shower downstairs. There is also a gated entrance with parking on the property so your car can be parked safely.
The property manager of Casa Colmena (a Dutch girl who speaks English and Spanish) lives downstairs and will help you make the most out of your Baja stay!
Sustainability in Casa Colmena
Our gray water is used to water our garden, and we aim to provide local organic toiletries. We also pay fair wages to our local cleaning staff and try to help the community out as much as we can. We separate our trash into organics and recyclables. Our host Yvette can provide you with info about the best activities to do that support the locals and preserve the wildlife.
