Indigenous Kokoda Adventures, is based in Papua New Guinea and is the first wholly Indigenous, locally owned, led and operated tour operator on the Kokoda Track. We offer challenging, life changing treks along the Kokoda Track. We are also a community focused tour operator with heart and soul and a far-reaching vision to improve the lives of the people along the Kokoda Track.
We know the local struggle because we are local. Our guides and porters live in the communities along the Track and for this reason, know the harsh reality of life.
By providing a better employment experience for our porters and guides, and providing them with the monetary means to better provide for their families and the education of their children, we envision a future where the people along the Track are not completely dependent of foreign operators and owners and can provide a better life for their families and a better future for their children.
We provide our trekkers with an extremely challenging trek and a wonderful opportunity to learn about the people, culture and history of the Kokoda Track told by the people of Kokoda. Our guests stay in village huts and will experience a truly life changing experience living as the local communities live. It’s not luxurious or glamourous but it is real. You will not return home the same person.
